Antique French opera glasses manufactured by L. Lemaire Fabt Paris and retailed by Boulanger & Soa, St. Paul Minnesota. These classic theater binoculars feature a brass body with a dark bronzed finish and glass optics.
The maker markings are clearly visible around the eyepieces. The center focusing wheel operates the extension tubes in the traditional manner used on late 19th to early 20th century opera glasses.
These were commonly used at theaters, operas, and sporting events and are now sought after as collectible optical instruments and decorative antiques. The combination of a French manufacturer and a Minnesota retailer marking makes this an interesting example for collectors.
