This jug is a classic example of French 'Terre de Fer' (ironstone) pottery, which was popularized in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a more durable alternative to fine porcelain. The piece features a characteristic blue floral transferware pattern, a technique developed in Britain but heavily adopted by French manufacturers like St.
Amand or Choisy-le-Roi. The swirling, molded body adds a tactile quality that elevates it above standard utilitarian wares.
Very good vintage shape. No chips or cracks. Approximately 7” tall. Great as decor or as a vase.
Color is a light cream and almost a sage-like blue.
