Up for sale is an authentic 19th-century antique miner's oil-wick cap lamp, historically referred to by collectors as a "teapot" lamp. This piece features the highly collectible "Frostburg Pattern" manufactured in Frostburg, Maryland by the renowned tinsmith Frederick Zais between 1876 and 1903. The front of the reservoir body displays the signature shield/oval stamping. The word "FROSTBURG" is visible at the bottom of the emblem.

Condition Details:The lamp is constructed of tin. The heavy-duty wire cap hook on the reverse side remains firmly attached and completely intact. The hinged lid opens and closes properly. The item features an honest, untouched historic surface patina with minor oxidation and wear consistent with a genuine, century-old underground industrial tool.
