Antique Lenox American Belleek Miniature Vase Rose O'Neill Kewpie Signed Mosier:
$225.00

This is a remarkably tiny piece, standing only 3 1/4" high, yet beautifully decorated in shades of blue, yellow, burgundy/red and black. The Kewpie, with its characteristic topknot, tiny wings and mischievous expression, is especially appealing.

The underside bears the early Lenox “L” palette mark associated with American Belleek porcelain produced in Trenton, New Jersey. It is also individually hand signed “A.M. Mosier.” I have not been able to establish the identity of A.M. Mosier, but the signature appears to relate to the individual decoration of the vase rather than being a Lenox factory artist's mark.

Rose O’Neill introduced her famous Kewpies in the early 20th century, with Kewpie merchandise becoming enormously popular beginning around 1912. Based upon the Kewpie subject, early Lenox mark and style of decoration, this miniature vase likely dates to the 1910s–1920s.

I have been unable to locate another comparable Lenox American Belleek miniature Kewpie vase signed A.M. Mosier, making this an especially interesting piece for collectors of Kewpie memorabilia, early Lenox and American art porcelain.

Measurements:
Approximately 3 1/4" high
Approximately 2" diameter at widest point
1" diameter at base

Condition: Excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Decoration remains colorful and attractive. Please examine the photographs carefully for additional condition and decorative details.

Marks: Early Lenox “L” palette mark; hand signed “A.M. Mosier”
Origin: Trenton, New Jersey, USA
Estimated date: Circa 1912–1920s

A delightful little piece combining early Lenox American Belleek, Rose O’Neill Kewpie imagery and signed hand decoration in a miniature 3 1/4" vase.
