A 6 1/2 inch tall cylinder-shaped clear-glass antique NEUROSINEpatent medicine bottle that originally came filled with a half pint of aCANNABIS INDICA laced PATENT MEDICINE bottle.According to research done on the Internet, theolder formulas of this product included cannabis Indica ( marijuana )though the bottles do NOT have any CANNABIN / cannabinoidwordage embossed in the glass. This IS an ORIGINAL ANTIQUEmold-blown bottle with a corktop, dating back to the 1800\'s.

Actually,each fluid ounce was stated to contain, \"Bromid of Potassium, C. P. 40 grains, Bromid of Sodium, C. P. 40 grains, Bromid of Ammonium, C. P. 40 grains, Bromid of Zinc 1 grain, Extract Lupulin 32 grains, Cascara Sagrada, fl. ex. 40 minims, Extract Henbane .075 grain, Extract Belladonna .075 grain, Extract Cannabis Indica .60 grain! It was referred to as a \"shotgun\" type medicine, the whole idea behind Neurosine was that one of the ingredients would fix what-ever it was that was ailing you, and the others won\'t kill you. Many articleson the internet speak of it as GOOD medicine, a Prozac type formula before its time. One quote states, \"Neurosine, in fact, seemed to be the drug of choice for many \"nervous\" patients. Back in the day, medical doctors referred Neurosine to patients \"to relieve nervousness,\" \"for nerves,\" \"a quieting medicine,\" and \"to relieve nerve tension.\" This medicine appears to have served the same need that forty years later would be served by Valium and eighty years later by Prozac\", and ends with the quote, \"Was Neurosine the Prozac of the early 20th Century ... ?\" Another quote, The Clinical Reporter, Volume 16, pg. 323, by Homeopathic Medical College of Missouri, the state that it was manufactured in states that, \"Neurosine is composed of new or untried drugs, but such as are well and favorably known to the Profession as being the most efficient in the treatment of Neurasthenia, Insomnia, Hysteria, Neuralgia, Chorea, Epilepsy, Mania, Migraine, Convulsive and Reflex Neuroses, Restlessness of fevers etc.\" Another quote reads that \"No physician would think of prescribing all of the drugs in Neurosine for any one condition. Therefore, the Dios Company urges the use of this nostrum for a host of conditions and without due consideration of its potent constituents. Not content with recommending the promiscuous use of this already too complex mixture, the Dios Co. advises physicians to combine it with other drugs... (Jour. A. M. Since today there is a return of medical marihuana, there is also a return of interestin theproductthat was black-balled so heavily in the 1960\'s and even into recent times.
