Meticulously preserved with pristine porcelain, vibrant hand-painted blown-out blossoms, thick gold moriage scrollwork, and 100% complete raised enamel jewel-beading. Zero chips, cracks, or repairs. This specific mold is known in historical Nippon encyclopedias as a "Blown-Out" or heavy-relief scalloped serving bowl. In the late 1890s, the Morimura Brothers hired elite regional Japanese artisans to paint Western botanical subjects to target high-end American estate parlors. The watercolor shading on the petals, combined with the heavy, hand-inked outline, is a textbook signature of Nippon decorative export wares.
This antique Nippon bowl is a technique"Blown-Out" / Relief Moldeddecorated with blossoms of exquisitely hand painted relief floral outlined and accented in gold. This pattern design and deep bowl is a very rare find. The bowl features bright colorfulpoppyfloral and leafage with an inner border of raised gold small beading. There is a one inch wide enameled band with colorful decoration between this border and the rim, which is scalloped and has a high raised beaded application enameled in gold. To me, it is very unique piece of Nippon.Condition Report
