Antique PAIR 2 Vases BRISTOL GLASS Hand Painted Feathers Blue White VICTORIAN
Size Approx.10.75\" and 10.5\" high [hand blown so slightly different height]x 18\" around widest point at center
Tops 2 1/8\"across, bases 3.5\" diameter
Matched set of TWO genuine Victorian late 1800s [most likely 1880s or 1890s] vases. These glasses were referred to in England as SISTER VASES due to their identical appearance.
Features hand blown Bristol glass with a magnificent design of ostrich feathers and flowers, hand painted. Design extends around entire vase but is largest in front. Opaque white glass with pontil marks on bottom. Hand colored in sky blue approx 1/2 way down each vase.
Very good condition, no flaws whatsoever other than 1 vase has 2 miniscule fleabite nicks along top rim- so small that they are almost impossible to see, shown in last pic. Very hard to detect unless searching. Some light fading to gold rims as normal for age.
No scratching, fading, or rub marks to blue painted bases or to hand painted designs.
As these are individually made, they vary slightly. Blue is a bit darker on one vase. These are magnificent. Faint tape remnants on undersides from being catalogued years ago, should come off easily.
