7\" high x 3.5\" diameter across bell base, handle is 4.5\" long

A genuine mid-late 1800s cast brass bell with a hand turned wooden handle.

The brass is VERY THICK and heavy- it has a MAGNIFICENT clear and EXTREMELY LOUD sound when rung.

Handle has some incised simple lines for decoration

Has its original clapper which is SQUARE and there is a SQUARE nut holding the handle on- great indicators of age and the hand-made era that this bell is from

Excellent antique condition- this was definitely used as a schoolhouse bell and shows appropriate gentle signs of wear and use, normal for age. Rim of bell has a tiny nick in the brass which may be form the casting process and does not affect the bell/sound and is so minor it\'s hard to notice- see last pic and use zoom.
