Antique Reading PA Photo John H. Giles Hosiery Store S. 5th St Horse For Sale

Antique mounted cabinet photograph of a storefront on S. 5th Street, Reading, Pennsylvania, showing a horse-drawn delivery wagon parked beneath an awning reading “John H. Giles.” The porch/veranda-front building appears to have been a hosiery and clothing business — a period inscription on the mount identifies it as “Giles - Hoskins + Fulmer, S. 5th Street, Reading.” A great slice of turn-of-the-century Reading commercial streetscape, with storefront signage and horse-and-wagon delivery still in use.

Condition: mounted on period photo board, moderate wear with surface spotting/foxing throughout the image, mount edges show some soiling; image remains clear enough to read the signage and make out storefront details.
