A charming antique gilt metal and enamel pendant badge of The Royal Society of St George, made by the renowned Melbourne medallists Stokes & Sons.Design: Heart/shield form depicting the Cross of St George (red cross on white field) surmounted by a Royal crown, with a blue enamel banner inscribed “THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF ST GEORGE.” Gold-tone metal throughout. Bail ring for suspension as a pendant or fob.
Reverse: Stamped STOKES & SONS / MELB — the Stokes & Sons name dates this piece to approximately 1896–1910.
Condition: Good antique condition. Enamel bright and largely intact with minor wear consistent with age. Gilt shows light patina. Presented in a small display box (not original). Approx 30mm x 20mm
