Antique Signed Wave Crest Pin Trinket Dish Brass Handles For Sale

This beautiful Wave Crest pin or trinket dish has brass handles. It's marked WAVE CREST TRADE MARK. Similar pieces are attributed to C.F. Monroe, a well-known company in Meriden, CT that manufactured many of these pieces. The type of glass itself is referred to as Opal Ware. C.F. Monroe did not manufacture the glass itself, which it acquired from other companies, but decorated it. Wave Crest designs, first introduced in 1892 were popular from the 1890s to 1910s and there are still many collectors today. This trinket dish measures 5 5/8" from the outside edge of one handle to the outside edge of the other and it's 1 1/2"deep deep. It measures 2 3/4" in diameter across the top opening. It's in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs and the colors are rich and beautiful.
