Antique Swiss Reuge Music Automaton, Singing Birds In Cage, C1910
A Reuge Swiss singing-bird cage music automaton, circa 1910. The domed brass-tone cage houses two brightly colored birds above a floral ground, set on a blue-decorated circular base with gilt-tone trim and painted classical scene and rose panels. The underside is marked “REUGE MUSIC” and “MADE IN SWITZERLAND.” The base also has a music/stop control. A distinctive Swiss musical automaton for a collection of music boxes and mechanical curiosities.
Overall very good condition with spot of residue on base. Wear consistent with age and use; as photographed.
