Rare antique Van Emden Co., New York alphabet chocolate/candy mold, mold number D 3462.
This unusual large metal confectionery mold features 24 individual square cavities, combining letters of the alphabet with raised pictorial images including animals, household objects and other recognizable symbols.
Examples include an apple, bell, dog, egg, fish, goose, heart, jug, kangaroo, lion, mouse, owl, bird, star, teapot, umbrella and more.

This is an authentic old working confectionery mold and consequently shows considerable age and use, including oxidation, surface rust, discoloration, scratches and wear throughout. These imperfections contribute to its wonderful antique industrial character.
