Antique AMSCO Tin Litho Child Tea Set Sunbonnet Girl Cats Dogs 11 Pc

Charming antique 11-piece child’s tin lithograph tea set made by AMSCO Mfg. Co. of New York City, dating to approximately the early 1900s.

The colorful design features a girl wearing a large white sunbonnet and red dress, surrounded by playful cats and dogs. The cups have coordinating images of children and animals. The wonderful early graphics and desirable animal theme make this a particularly appealing set for collectors of antique toys, tin lithography, cats and dogs, or children’s dishes.

The set includes:

• 1 teapot/pitcher, approximately 3 inches tall

• 5 handled cups

• 5 round plates

The pieces are marked within the lithographed design: “AMSCO MFG. CO. N.Y.C. U.S.A.”

Condition: Antique played-with condition with varying degrees of lithograph loss, scratching, oxidation, discoloration, surface wear, and edge wear. Several of the plates and cups retain especially nice, bright graphics, while others show more substantial image loss and wear. The lower attachment of the teapot/pitcher handle is loose; the handle remains attached at the top. There may also be minor bends or irregularities consistent with the age and thin tin construction. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.

A scarce and wonderfully graphic early American tin tea set with an especially desirable cat-and-dog theme.
