Description: Handsome antique Victorian three-footed cast bronze metal jardiniere, vase or plant pedestal stand. The low circular stand is heavily ornamented with repeating scroll, roundel and foliate motifs around the apron and three substantial projecting feet. A raised circular rim forms a recessed platform intended to securely support a separate vessel.The dark aged surface retains warm bronze-toned highlights across the raised decoration, giving the piece a rich architectural appearance. Its compact tripod form would have been well suited to supporting a decorative jardiniere, cachepot, vase, urn, fern pot or similar display vessel in a Victorian interior, conservatory or parlor. It could also be repurposed with a glass cloche for an amazing display piece.There is no maker's mark. The bottom has signs of being machine worked (turned) and refining in a spiral pattern. It's exceptional, heavy and solid, weighing around 2.3 pounds. I could not find this exact pattern to pin down a maker.DETAILS

Antique pre-owned condition with substantial and beautiful age-related patina, oxidation. A few light spotting marks and scratches consistent with an old utilitarian decorative metal object. The recessed top shows light surface marks and oxidation. That being said, this is in really nice shape. There's just a few light water marks/patina on the surface base. I've cleaned it with a soft rag. There's still a little dust/dirt in the recesses of the design that may improve if you want to clean it further with a soft toothbrush. I will leave that to the new owner.HISTORICAL NOTE
