Antique Victorian Cast Iron Inkstand Pressed Glass Inkwell Hinged Lid Pen Rest For Sale

Antique Victorian-era (Eastlake style) cast iron inkstand. The ornate rectangular base has scroll relief, and pierced scroll side frames rise to notched uprights that work as pen rests. It holds a square pressed glass ink well with a round well, rounded corner posts and a diamond-cut pattern under the base. The domed cast iron lid has a sunburst/swirl top and pivots up to open (shown open in one photo). It has no maker's mark that I can see. Please ask if you'd like measurements.

Condition: Used, antique. The iron has rust and worn patina all over, as expected with age. The underside of the lid has heavier rust and old residue. The lid opens and closes on its pivot. I zoomed in on the tips of the notched uprights and the pierced frames and they look complete, with no breaks I can see. I zoomed in on the glass rim, corner posts and base edges and did not see chips or cracks in my photos. The pressed glass has normal molding marks. Please see all photos.

Packed carefully with bubble wrap. Measurements available on request.
