This is an especially attractive example of a late Victorian publisher's decorative cloth binding. The vivid mustard-yellow cloth is decorated with an elaborate black floral design extending across both boards and spine, complemented by bright gilt lettering on the spine. The combination creates a particularly handsome display copy and reflects the high standard of American publisher's bindings of the late nineteenth century.
