CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS This is a late-19th/early-20th-century (c. 1880s–1910) Victorian family photograph album with a green floral-patterned velvet cover. The interior features the classic wood-grain patterned pages with ornate gold foil borders, decorative motifs, and slots designed for cabinet cards (larger ~4¼ × 6½ inch mounts) and smaller CDVs (cartes de visite). Capacity & Contents - Designed for approximately 28 cabinet cards and 12 CDVs.
- Currently contains 7 original cabinet cards of period studio portraits (women, children, and couples in Victorian/Edwardian dress).
- Photographer marks visible include Newman (New York), C. Petersen / C. Peterson (La Grange, Texas – a documented late-19th-century Texas photographer), G.D. Bundley, and others. Some backs or mounts show studio advertising.
The album is a nice example of the popular “wood-grain” style pages with gilt decoration that were common in the cabinet-card era. The green velvet cover has a dense floral/paisley-style pattern typical of the period.
