An exquisite antique Victorian centerpiece with an elevated grape stand, crafted in the late 19th century by the pretigious British silversmiths Robert & Belk in Sheffield, England.
This magnificient collector’s piece features a highly detailed, naturalistic design typical of the late Victorian and early Art Noveau eras. The central stem beautifully mimics twisting vines, lifelike vine leaves, and small grape clusters, ending in an upper hook originally designed to hang fresh grape bunches.
The base consist of an elegant, scalloped fluted bowl with a wavy rim.Technical Details & Hallmarks:•Maker: Robert & Belk (Sheffield). Features the official Aladdin’s lamp trademark hallmark.• Material: EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver/ High- quality Silver plate).• Base Marks & Stamps: Stamped with the initials R&B, individual EPNS Shields, design/ catalog model Numbers 4280, and size mark (7). • Period: Circa 1864-1899 (Victorian Era).•its diameter is 8’ and 9’ height.The piece is in very good vintage and structural condition it retain its authentic rich natural tarnish and dark patina, which beautifully highlights its age and detailed craftsmanship.
There are no repairs, broken welds, or severe Silver plate loss (no exposed base metal). It shows minor surface wear /friction in the center of the bowl and tiny pit marks, entirely consistent with a functional piece that is over 130 years old, adding beautiful antique caracter.
