Antique late 19th-century stereoview featuring an unusual staged Victorian domestic scene with a mother or woman disciplining a child across her lap while several other children look on.
Mounted on a gray card marked “American and Foreign Views” and “New Educational Series – Stereoscopic Views.” An interesting period image documenting Victorian-era family themes, childhood and social customs.
Card is in estate-fresh antique condition with considerable age wear including toning, fading, staining/soiling, edge and corner wear, surface wear and a crease or small split along the lower portion of the mount.
