Offered is a beautifully detailed antique Austrian Vienna Bronze pheasant, hand cold-painted and exhibiting the fine sculptural quality that made Vienna Bronzes famous during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Measuring approximately 4 inches in length, this miniature pheasant displays excellent feather detail, a naturally aged cold-painted surface, and a rich antique patina developed over decades. The sculptural modeling, realistic posture, and original hand-applied paint make it an attractive example of classic Vienna Bronze craftsmanship.
Provenance
This pheasant comes from the same private estate collection as a group of signed Austrian bronzes, including documented J. Csadek examples and other high-quality Vienna Bronze animal sculptures. Although this individual pheasant is unsigned, it was acquired as part of that original collection and is consistent in quality, construction, and period with the other Austrian bronzes from the estate.
Because many authentic Vienna Bronze figures were produced by multiple Austrian workshops, it is not unusual to encounter quality unsigned examples. This sculpture is offered as an antique Austrian Vienna Bronze in the Franz Xaver Bergman style, but no specific maker or foundry is being represented.
