Fine antique Vienna-style porcelain pedestal urn richly decorated with hand-painted classical figural scenes and extensive gilt ornament.
The ovoid body features different figural scenes around the circumference against a pale landscape ground, surrounded by a deep burgundy/maroon ground with delicate gilt and enamel decoration. Particularly striking gilt figural mask handles flank the body. The urn rests on a pedestal above a square architectural base decorated with elaborate gilt foliate scrollwork.
The piece is constructed in sections and appears to be bolted together through the center, a construction method found on elaborate Continental porcelain urns of this type.
Measures approximately 9 1/4 inches high and 4 1/2 inches at the widest point.
Underside bears a blue beehive/shield-style mark associated with Vienna-style porcelain. Because this mark was used and imitated by numerous later decorators and manufacturers, the exact maker is not definitively identified.
Good antique condition overall with noticeable rubbing and loss to portions of the gilding, along with expected minor surface and age wear. Please examine all photographs carefully for precise condition.
