Antique Vintage Japanese Chirimen Kinsha Silk Kimono Fabric Taisho / Showa Era For Sale

This listing is for 2 pieces of Crepe Chirimen Kinsha silk. Each piece is really 2 thin pieces each; see photos; for the sake of ease of measuring, I left these pieces together as is. Each stitched together piece is at least 97cm x 32 cm ( so you're getting two of these ); I measured off the seam, so you're getting a little more fabric. This is perfect silk for small crafts, especially dollworking and doll making. Beautiful patterns; you're getting peony, mum, bamboo and plum blossoms. This is on the thinner side of chirimen-kinsha,which is really nice. There are some small marks, but nothing major; fabric is bright and strong. I tug tested all silk for any signs of dreaded shatter and everything is nice and good toworkwith.This silk is probably from around 1915-1925; probablywas once a komon kimono but had been broken down into a very, very tiny juban ( under kimono ) and I've been using some of it for dollwork but I certainly don't need thewhole of it, so I'm spreading the joy of this beautiful silk around.
