Antique Vintage Mid Century MCM Twin-Flow Aluminum Tobacco Pipe 4 Briar Bowls For Sale

Date: circa 1950s–1960s

How it works: the “Twin-Flow” gimmick is the mouthpiece. It does not appear to be two full separate airways through the whole pipe; collectors note the name comes from the two side holes at the bit, intended to spread smoke so it “by-passes” the tongue and reduces “tongue bite.” Very space-age, very 1960s: the pipe equivalent of tailfins and chrome knobs.

Quality: good, collectible, but not high-end luxury . Think clever mid-grade system pipe / promotional novelty set, not Dunhill. The gold-tone aluminum frame is attractive and lightweight, the briar bowls are machine-turned, and the boxed presentation is the big. These are collected more for the oddball design and completeness than for elite pipe-making.

Condition:

• Strong overall.
• Original box, satin insert, stem/frame, and 4 briar bowls total.
• The gold finish looks bright.
• The box has old, tasteful tape repairs thats helped save it for all these years - the box still adds a lot.
• Bowls look smoked / lightly used
