**Antique WWI-Era Soldiers in Trenches Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) - Cellofix Paper**
Up for sale is an exceptional original antique sepia-toned real photo postcard dating from the World War I era (circa 1914–1918). The photograph captures a large, historical group portrait of over 20 front-line soldiers embedded along a dirt trench or dugout fortification line. The troops are wearing traditional high-crown peaked service caps (furazhka), standard military tunics, and tall leather field boots. Several tools, including shovels used for entrenching, are visible among the group.
The uniform cuts are consistent with Balkan or Eastern European forces of the Great War, such as the Kingdom of Bulgaria or the Imperial Russian Army.
The reverse side features a divided-back design printed on premium period paper stock:
* **Paper Stamp:** Clearly printed across the center division line: **"Cellofix - Postkarte D. R. P. 176323"**. This indicates high-quality historical German self-toning photographic paper patented under the Deutsche Reichs-Patent (D.R.P.) system during the early 20th century.
* **Condition:** Vintage antique condition with visible signs of handling and age. The postcard exhibits significant moisture or water staining on the reverse side, causing dark tide-line discoloration running vertically down the left and right margins (this has faintly silvered or toned the front margins very slightly). There is also a small surface emulsion scrape/scratch on the lower right of the front image, along with light edge curling and minor corner softening. The image itself retains remarkable facial clarity, making it a fantastic historical reference piece. Please view both high-resolution pictures closely to judge the exact physical state.
