Antique Dr. Marshall’s Catarrh Snuff patent medicine bottle dating to approximately the late 1800s to early 1900s. Aqua-colored glass bottle retains its original paper advertising labels, cork/sealed top, and what appears to be a substantial amount of the original powdered contents.
Front label reads “Dr. Marshall’s Aromatic Catarrh Snuff” and the reverse label advertises “Dr. Marshall’s Catarrh Snuff For Catarrh and Colds in the Head,” with directions for use and an original price of 30¢.
The bottle is also embossed along the sides. Approximately 3 1/2 inches tall, consistent with documented examples of this bottle. The Smithsonian has a comparable Dr. Marshall’s example measuring about 3 1/2 inches tall and dating to before 1906.
A great survivor for collectors of antique patent medicines, pharmacy/apothecary items, advertising, medical bottles, or tobacco/snuff memorabilia.
Contents are being sold strictly as part of the antique collectible and are not intended for use or consumption.
