Antique Grand Pa’s Wonder Soap advertising booklet produced for the Beaver Soap Company of Dayton, Ohio. Dating to approximately 1900, this colorful promotional booklet features an illustrated cover showing “Grand Pa” surrounded by children blowing soap bubbles.
The interior contains black-and-white illustrations and advertising copy promoting Grand Pa’s Wonder Soap for bathing, shampooing, laundry, mechanics, miners, farmers, firemen, seamen, and general household use. It also discusses the company’s pine-tar and milled soaps and includes period testimonials, including one dated July 21, 1900.
The back cover displays the familiar Grand Pa portrait with a blank “For Sale By” retailer area. A charming and uncommon piece of early American soap, pharmacy, general-store, and household-product advertising.
Condition: Antique preowned condition with age toning, discoloration, edge and corner wear, small tears, and wear around the staples and spine. The cover has surface loss along portions of the edges. Pages remain readable, and the colorful front-cover artwork displays nicely. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact condition and contents.
