Vintage “Gameof Thrones” style headdress oriental tiara headdress antiqued silver tone

CONDITION: good vintagecondition with expected wear from theatrical use. Signs of wear and use and smallrepairs are to be expected on such items.

It is difficult to date such head piecesbecause they are strongly influenced by other cultures. I would speculate thatthis one originated in the early years of the 20th century. They have asubstantial finish and are certainly not a recent reproduction. There are manypopular glamour postcards from that period showing actresses and film stars ofthe day wearing “oriental” style headpieces of that type. Some are illustratedin the collage photograph.
This exciting piece comprises a headband of antiquedsilver tone metal with a simple classic arcaded bandeau design. The decorativepart is an openwork panel with a motif of flowers and leaves. Set into thecenter is a large flower design heavily inset with clear rhinestones which alsoembellish the remainder of the design. Fine chains hang from the bottom edge toform an oriental or Egyptian look on either side of the face.
It has an exotic look and would be ideal forLARP, fancy dress or fayres. There are loops at each extremity through whichelastic or ribbons may be passed to hold it in position.
