The model for this piece was created in 1961 by Marc Lalique, son of legendary glassmaker Rene\' Laliquinie. It was an homage to the classic flora and fauna motifs used in the house. The relief pattern depicts intricate sparrows nestled among deeply carved laurel leaf branches. It utilizes the contrast between a satin frosted bowl and a transparent, geometric square pedestal base. There is a diamond point script or acid etched signature on the bottom that says Lalique France.
This vase/bowl is in fine condition. The signature on the bottom is clear. There is no trademark symbol which indicates it is likely an early 1960\'s edition. No chips or cracks. The very bottom of the pedestal has some insignificant scuffs, else perfect.
5 1/4 inches high and a diameter of 4 5/8 inches.
