This book covers the first decade of BNSF.
It details the merger of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe into a single entity, including how they phased in a combined route and guaranteed service schedule for its customers, consolidated locomotive fleets, adding new models and retiring aging veterans, and selecting a new corporate image.
This book has all-color photographs with extensive text and maps. This book is a little bit of a freight car color guide as there are many individual photographs of freight cars.
The photos are not large-format, most pages will have small photographs often 4.5 x 2 inches in size.
