Vintage large 3-blade Premium Stockman pocket knife manufactured by Boker USA at their Maplewood, New Jersey factory. The master blade face displays a bold, vintage-style stamped "TREE BRAND" marking next to the traditional Boker tree logo, while the primary tang reads "BOKER / USA". The reverse tang of the secondary blade is cleanly stamped with the official model/pattern code 8573 positioned below the round tree hallmark. This highly dependable, large-format everyday carry tool was manufactured between 1945 and 1983.
The knife features dark molasses-brown jigged composite Delrin handle scales, stylized with crisp ridges to mimic premium stag bone. The display side scale proudly houses an inlaid round Boker Tree medallion shield. According to official Boker 8573 design specifications, this full-sized heavy Stockman framework measures approximately 4 inches in closed length. It houses three full folding high-carbon steel implements: a master clip point blade, a secondary sheepsfoot blade, and a reverse-side spey blade.
The item is in great, highly functional vintage condition. The rugged jigged handle scales are excellently preserved, flush-fit, and completely free of chips, cracks, or structural fractures. All three carbon steel blades remain full, showing only minor period sharpening wear and preserving their original factory shapes. The steel surfaces carry an honest, uniform gray age patina with widespread light surface pocket tarnish, carbon spot freckling, and areas of superficial rust pitting that would easily respond to a gentle detail cleanup. Mechanically, this large Stockman is exceptional: all three tools operate with rigid backspring tension and deliver an excellent, highly pronounced good snap upon opening and closing. Solid brass liners, pins, and rounded nickel silver bolsters remain completely tight and stable. Please look at the high resolution photos for condition details, if you have any questions, just ask.
