What makes this copy particularly special is the original Mike Mayhew Scarecrow sketch/remark drawn directly on the cover.
According to Mike Mayhew, this was the first time he had done this style of Scarecrow sketch on this book, making this a particularly distinctive example for a Batman, Scarecrow or Mike Mayhew collection.
CGC has authenticated the signature and artwork, with the label specifically stating:
“SIGNED, SKETCH & ‘#1’ BY MIKE MAYHEW ON 5/21/26”
The sketch depicts Scarecrow with his hat, stitched facial details and button-style eyes inside the white moon/circle portion of Mayhew's cover design. Mayhew's large signature and “#1” notation appear alongside the sketch.
