This beautiful French 19th century mantle clock tells the time only, it doesn’t chime.
It should be set up on a level surface to ensure continuous running and when winding do so gently and gradually to avoid the possibility of straining the working mechanism.
The clock keeps excellent time but it may be necessary to adjust the pendulum after transit.

The clock was tested over an 8 day period during which time it ran continuously and accurately without needing any attention.
