Evans (1945–2025) was a Southern California helicopter historian, researcher and professional helicopter photographer, a long-term member of the Vertical Flight Society and Vertical Aviation International, and co-author with Robert S. Petite of The Bell 47 Helicopter Story. His Santa Ana archive preserved a wide range of helicopter-history photographs and reference material.
