For sale is an antique gold gilded ornate Victorian picture frame.
This frame formally held an English mezzotint. We have included a picture of this frame with that mezzotint.
The mezzotint is not included in the sale. If you want it, you can have it. But this sale is just for the picture frame.
Of a frame with wonderful ornate scrollwork throughout and with a lovely stylized cartouche at the top. The rails with repeating lambs tongue patterns and also with a central scroll decoration.
We believe the frame is probably sometime late 19th century to turn of the 20th century in age. Give or take.
Condition. The frame in overall good structural condition. Several areas of guilt loss exposing the red clay bowl underneath. As well as areas of Jess so chips and losses. All age-appropriate for a picture frame. It does give the frame a very lovely antique aesthic.
The frame would be perfect for an old print or a map, dried botanical displays. Etc.
It would really stand out with an antique piece of mirror glass.
