About the creator:
Chris Claremont (1950 - ) is one of the most influential and prolific comic book writers in the medium’s history and is best known for his 16-year run on Uncanny X-Men, a tenure that transformed the series into one of Marvel’s most successful and iconic titles. Originally joining Marvel as an editorial intern, Claremont began writing for the company in the early 1970s, with early credits on titles such as Iron Fist and Ms. Marvel. However, it was his work on the X-Men beginning with issue #94 in 1975—following Len Wein’s re-launch of the team—that cemented his legacy. Over the years, Claremont co-created some of the franchise’s most enduring characters, including Rogue, Mystique, Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde, and Psylocke, and penned classic storylines such as The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. Known for his deep character development, strong female protagonists, and complex, serialized storytelling, Claremont also contributed to other Marvel titles including Fantastic Four, Excalibur, and Wolverine. Outside of comics, he has written novels, screenplays, and even contributed to the early story concepts for X-Men: The Animated Series. Claremont\'s impact on the superhero genre is immeasurable, and he was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2015.
