Chesterman Sheffield England 66 foot leather housed tape measure with brass winder.
This is a genuine vintage item.
Manufactured by Chesterman of Sheffield England this is a leather housed tape measure with brass winding mechanism.
In full working order, the leather housing is sound but does carry some marking to the leather, entirely commensurate with use, age and storage.
The brass fold out winding mechanism is working well but it does show the verdigris which can be seen in my photographs. I am aware that this measure was purchased as a gift for a budding architect upon commencing his career during the 1960s!
The tape measure features \'feet\' to one side and \'poles\' to the other. The measure itself does show obvious signs of use and wear as it was well used back in the day! Thereis some wear to the stitched leather end of the tape - as I have shown but the brass end buckle remains in situ.
The leather casing remains sound with all stitching in good sound condition but the initials of the original owner \'H.W.S.\' are etched (professionally)to one side - once again as I have shown.
A fabulous vintage item with usage wear.
