William Emmett Kyle was a notable Fayetteville, North Carolina officer serving with the 52nd NC Volunteers, was wounded three times incl the Battle of Gettysburg during Pickett\'s Charge, was cited for heroism at Ream\'s Station, Virginia, but survived the surrender at Appomattox Court House. An Original Confederate Veteran Cross of Honor Certificate Sept 1, 1912.for John Moseley Walker, of Wilmington, signed by Captain Walker and applied for by his son at \"The Meadows\" Owing\'s Mills, Maryland, detailing his service & notes his commission was signed by Secretary of War George W Randolph. The Certificate is attested to and signed also by Major E.J. Hale, 52nd NC & AAG, CSA. and by the UCV Camp Adjutant At Fayetteville . The 1p approx 8 x 11\" ptd/ink Certificate on gray paper has trimmed edges not affecting the text, archival repairs on the reverse folds and minor wear. Overall Condition. Comes w service info.
