5x7 inch glossy reprinted photo of the Cleveland Spiders in1895. They were a professional baseball team in Cleveland, Ohio, that playedfrom 1887 to 1899 in the American Association and later the National League.Their name came from their uniforms and the thin build of many players.
The team had some strong seasons in the 1890s and even wonthe 1895 Temple Cup, with several future Hall of Famers like Cy Young.
In 1899, the owners moved most of the team’s best players toanother club they owned in St. Louis, leaving Cleveland with a weak roster. TheSpiders finished 20–134 that year, the worst record in MLB history, and weredisbanded soon after.
