$225.00

This third piece is a classic Mould Two configuration of The Old Curiosity Shop, featuring a rare black felt base and standard painted windows.🏛️ Key Features of This Variant
- The Mould Detail (Mould Two / Solid Windows): Look closely at the second close-up image showing the shopfront windows. This is a clear example of the Mould Two design modification. The window frames are completely filled in with solid, flat plaster blocks rather than being structurally hollowed out.
- The Paint Application (Painted Tan/Yellow): Because the windows are solid plaster, the studio painters manually dabbed an earthy tan-yellow paint color into each individual window square to simulate the look of window glass and indoor lighting.
- The Base Condition (Black Felt + Guild Label): The base features a striking solid black felt backing paired with the crisp, early rectangular Guild of Master Craftsmen label. The black felt is a highly collectible material anomaly caused by short-term supply chain disruptions in late 1980.This specific black felt configuration was retired by late 1980 or early 1981 when John Hine Studios successfully restocked and standardized their production line exclusively to green felt backing.
