David Winter Tythe Barn Mould two; Door completely on & Handwritten label RARE:
$350.00

  • 🚪 The Door Feature: "Door Closed & Open"
    • The Structure: Look closely at the second close-up image. Unlike the previous version where a door sits flat on the ground, this version shows both doors structurally attached to the central entryway. The left door leaf is flat against the frame (closed), and the right door leaf is standing upright and swinging wide outward (open).
    • The Significance: There is no loose door on the cobblestones here. This is another variation from the early structural evolution of the piece, showcasing how David Winter experimented with full architectural door enclosures before modifying the mould to the simpler "door flat on the ground" mass-production style.
🏷️ The Base & Label: Ultra-Rare Blue Handwritten Slip
    • The Text: The label is a simple rectangular white paper strip featuring the distinct handwritten text in blue ink reading: "TYTHE BARN BY DAVID WINTER" (photographed upside down).
    • Production Timeline: This is the absolute earliest label variation in David Winter history. Before the studio printed the circular Guild labels, early employees or family members hand-wrote or hand-copied these text slips in the famous coal shed during the initial 1981 launch months.
The Coloring & Finish: Warm Earthy Tones

  • The Look: This cottage falls beautifully between the other two. It has a warm, medium golden-tan thatched roof that is lighter than the heavily soot-washed dark version, but retains the deep, hand-painted contrast in the timber frames and brick detailing characteristic of very early manual paint application.
