Up for sale is an incredibly scarce piece of Pacific Northwest industrial timber history: an authentic, antique crosscut saw raker gauge and jointer manufactured directly by the Torka Brothers in Seattle, Washington.While standard raker gauges from major makers like Atkins, Disston, and S.J. Morin are relatively common, instruments produced by the Torka Brothers are exceptionally rare. Primarily known in regional museum archives for their early 1900s maritime and logging photography in Port Townsend, Frank and William Torka later transitioned into precision machining and manufacturing in Seattle during the 1920s and 1930s. This specialized tool represents a small, proprietary run of logging maintenance equipment produced in very limited batches right out of their Seattle workshop.Item Details & Features:

• Manufacturer Stamp: Clearly stamped "TORKA BROS SEATTLE" on the solid brass center plate.
• Patent Status: Stamped "PAT. PEND." (Patent Pending), indicating this was manufactured during the initial production run while Frank Torka's mechanical designs were actively filing through the U.S. Patent Office.
• Components: Features a fully intact cast iron body frame, a floating brass micrometer center plate with an integrated long-arm pointer indicator, and an embedded spirit level vial on the reverse side.
• Condition: Excellent, untouched vintage condition. The tool retains its deep, beautiful, original dark age patina on both the cast iron and the brass plate. It has NOT been aggressively cleaned, wire-brushed, or polished, preserving its maximum historic and aesthetic value for serious collectors. The mechanical pointer moves freely.
