Antique 1906 Pennsylvania porcelain license plate #8955, featuring a deep cobalt blue background with large white numbers and “PENNA 1906” across the top.
This is an early Pennsylvania automobile registration plate with classic porcelain enamel construction. Measures approximately 8 1/4” wide x 6 1/2” high.
Pre-owned antique condition with age-related wear throughout, including scratches, surface marks, edge and corner wear, areas of porcelain loss, and oxidation/rust where the underlying metal is exposed. Wear is also present around the mounting slots and center mounting holes. Back shows additional discoloration, staining, oxidation, and porcelain loss consistent with age and use.
The blue and white colors remain strong and the plate number and lettering display clearly. No maker’s mark was found during inspection. No restoration or repainting is known.
