Donald J. Polland “The Cheyenne” #371 – LANCE Fine Pewter Sculpture w/ Original Certificate
Beautiful vintage “The Cheyenne” sculpture by noted Western artist Donald J. Polland, created exclusively for LANCE and cast in solid fine pewter.
This highly detailed sculpture depicts a Cheyenne warrior riding on horseback while carrying a long lance. Polland captured an impressive sense of movement throughout the piece, from the horse's dynamic running pose to the warrior's flowing clothing, feathers and detailed lance.
The sculpture is marked “THE CHEYENNE 371” on the base and bears the LANCE copyright mark dated 1973.
Especially desirable, this example includes its original LANCE Certificate of Registration, which identifies the sculpture as The Cheyenne by Donald J. Polland and confirms Sculpture Registration Number #371. The certificate is dated April 6, 1976 and bears the signature of E. Raymond Kennedy, President of LANCE.
The original certificate states that each sculpture was cast in solid fine pewter and that the original sculpting of The Cheyenne was completed on special commission and issued exclusively by LANCE of Hudson, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
The original long lance/spear is present, as shown in the photographs.

Very good vintage display condition considering its age. The sculpture retains its natural aged pewter appearance/patina. The original long lance/spear is present and the original Certificate of Registration matching Sculpture Registration #371 is included.
