This gem quality fossil shark’s tooth measures 1.28 inches (32.5 mm) in lengthfrom top to tip, not including the bale,and is capped with pure 925 Sterling Silver. Accented with a fine, oval, Australian Opal gem with a harlequin pattern of red, blue and green. An excellent fossil tooth with good coverage of brownish grey fossilized enamel and preserved serrations along both edges.
The teeth of the giant ancient shark, Megalodon, are among the most prizedspecimens for the prehistoric fossil collector. They are similar to those of today's Great White, but considerably larger. They were the largest carnivorous fish ever to have swum the oceans of our planet reaching lengths of up to 70 feet. They lived 1.5 to 28 million years ago.
