French Art Deco Dual Pierrot Acrobats Table Lamp with Alabaster Globe 1920s-30s For Sale

This striking European Art Deco accent lamp features a symmetrical pair of reclining Pierrot acrobats balancing a luminous alabaster globe atop their raised feet. The figures are rendered in metallic silvered art metal wearing detailed ruffled collars and skullcaps, with delicate carved faux-ivory (ivorine) faces. The sphere rests on their soles and lifts off to reveal an internal single-bulb light source that diffuses a warm glow through the natural alabaster stone veining. Mounted on a sleek, beveled dark marble plaque base, this piece embodies the theatrical contortionist and circus motifs popular during the French Art Deco movement.

​Condition Report:

Beautiful vintage condition. The lamp turns on and functions perfectly as shown in photos. The silvered finish on the figures remains bright with minor age-appropriate surface patina. The marble base is solid and clean. The alabaster shade has incredible natural stone variance and sits on the figures' feet without removal.  As with all true vintage lighting, the original cloth wiring shows light fraying near the switch; it is recommended  that buyers may want to rewire to meet modern safety codes!!
