Roman Catholics, in particular, observe the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter, commemorating Jesus’ time of fasting and temptation in the Judean wilderness.

Lent culminates in Holy Week, where key events in Christ’s life and ministry occurred: his entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, his Last Supper on Maundy Thursday, his trial, crucifixion and burial on Good Friday, and finally, his miraculous Resurrection from the dead three days later on Easter Sunday.

The women followers of Jesus discovered his Empty Tomb, and an angel announced, “He is Risen!” For 40 days after that, Jesus showed himself alive through multiple encounters with eyewitnesses before ascending to heaven.

Roman Catholics and Christians worldwide celebrate the Son of God and Savior who conquered death itself, providing salvation and eternal life for all who put faith in him.
