DC COMICS
DC Studios\' phenomenal Lanterns live action streaming series on HBO max has introduced legions of new fans as well as old to DC\'s most famous Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, as well as many key aspects of the overall Green Lantern mythos inside the DC Universe. While the most integral elements of the series\' over-arching story were drawn from Hal Jordan\'s \"Parallax\" arc in Green Lantern (Vol 3, 1991 and 1994), many key parts of the story - from Ataan\'s history with the Manhunters and details of Abin Sur\'s crash on earth to the circumstances surrounding Sinestro and his use of the power of Fear, come from elsewhere: Green Lantern (Vol 4, 2005).
Indeed, most future Lanterns stories including the biggest and most popularGreen Lantern events ever published like Blackest Night (which was given multiple \'nods\' in various episodes of Lanterns) will come from Green Lantern\'s fourth volume and the work of writer/creator GEOFF JOHNS, the visionary scribe who returned Hal Jordan to his human form and who transformed Green Lantern into a Universe-spanning story with his creation of the many different Lantern Corps of Light, from the Red Lanterns and the Violet Lanterns (or Star Sapphires) to the Yellow Lanterns of the Sinestro Corps.
Today\'s greater Green Lantern mythos exists because of Johns and the immense Universe of story he imagined for Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. That Universe begins here, with 2005\'s premiere issue of Green Lantern #1 (July 2005). Published with both a regular cover by Carlos Pacheco and the Variant available here - ALEX ROSS\' iconic portrayal of Hal Jordan racing through the sky as the titular hero -- this issue is a key in its own right for kicking off what would become the greatest Green Lantern volume published to date.
Being Green Lantern fans ourselves, our favorite cover for the issue that begins John\'s multi-year tenure on the title is Alex Ross\' outstanding painted Variant Cover. Not just one of our favorite Green Lantern variants, it\'s one of our overall favorite DC Comics Variants by Ross.
Indeed, it\'s nothing short of a \'Must-Have\' for any Green Lantern and Lanterns fan or collector. Pick up a High-Grade copy today and give your collection exactly what it deserves.
