Large complete Almandine? Garnet crystal with nice form and some residual Chlorite Schist matrix in areas. I am not sure if it is an Almandine or Andradite but either way its quite impressive with its sharp crystal faces and hefty size. The surfaces are etched or somewhat granular and there are veins plus a patch of a silvery-teal colored Chlorite Schist which give it a rather nice look.
This specimen I acquired from a local mineral club member who collected it quite some time ago while on a trip out to Montana.
