This is an originalGerman 98 BayonetMaker Mark Stamped "F. HERDER A.SN" on the ricasso,manufactured in 1940 according to the stamped date code on the side of the blade.
The Scabbard manufactured also byFriedrich Herder Abr. Sohn (F. Herder A. Sn.) of Solingen, in 1937.
Although non-matching parts in serial numbers and years, both from same manufacture and fit perfectly.
The leather frog has a manufacture stamp very hard to make out. More visible is the1940 date stamp as shown. Also notice itwill need some re-stitching.
Overall a nice vintage set to add to your German rifle accessories collection.
